The museum is located in the historic heart of Schiedam, on one of the oldest streets of the city:
3111 HL Schiedam
The museum is easily accessible by bicycle. From Rotterdam Central it is 20 minutes by bike. You can park your bike on the square in front of the museum.
With the car
With the car nothing is really far. See our parking tips below.
With the water bus
Would you like to cross the water and see something of the harbours? Schiedam is also accessible by water bus. Click here for departure times and sailing schedules.
By public transport
A train often stops at Schiedam Central Station. For example: from Amsterdam Central station it is only 56 minutes.
It then is a 20-minute walk from the sation to the museum. You pass the beautiful Grote or Sint Janskerk and standing on the Grote Markt, it’s the tree in which Carice van Houten sat as Poes Minoes in the same named film. If you make a small detour, you walk along the just completely restored Lange Haven, the vein of the historic center.
Bus 51, 54 and 89 and tram lines 21 and 24 stop at Koemarkt, from here it’s a 3-minute walk to the museum.
In the immediate vicinity of the museum only paid (chipping) parking is possible. The number of parking spaces is limited. Within walking distance of the museum are three different parking garages. We recommend the first one because the walking route to the museum takes you past some of the most beautiful spots in the old town.
